Sea-to-Sky Usage Suggestions

The following is a list of the areas that are designated Non-motorized, Non-motorized with Restricted Motorized Access (i.e., heli access) or Non-motorized with Motorized Tenure (i.e. heli-skiing or catskiing operator) by the Sea-to-Sky Winter Backcountry Recreation Sharing Forum.

We are publicising this list so that we can encourage club trips into these areas. These non-motorized areas are not official yet, so there may be some motorized use for now. But if we don't use them, we will definitely lose them. Here are the areas, broadly defined:

  1. Upper Meager - Manatee - Lillooet Glacier - Bridge Glacier area
  2. North Creek - Pebble Creek area
  3. Sockeye - Phelix Creek valleys
  4. Joffre Creek - Duffey Lake Corridor - Lillooet Lake area
  5. Mt. Currie area
  6. Garibaldi Park
  7. Clendinning and Upper Lillooet Parks
  8. Overseer Mtn and South Creek
  9. Miller Creek - Wasp Creek area
  10. Exodus Peak - Blanca Lakes area
  11. Sims Valley
  12. Ashlu - Elaho/Squamish divide
  13. Tzoonie - Jimmy Jimmy - Tantalus Park
  14. 21 Mile Creek, Sproatt, Upper Madeley, Rainbow Mt.
  15. Upper Callaghan valley
  16. Mt. Brew, Roe Creek, Cypress Pk. area
  17. Cloudburst Mtn, including Branch 100
  18. Sky Pilot - Ben Lomond area
  19. Skookumchuk Ck. - Mamquam Mtn.
  20. Pinecone Lake area

Now is as good a time as any to continue to "stake our claim" in these areas. If you are considering planning a trip in the Sea-to Sky area, please think about using these areas, and continuing the historical non-motorized use.

Special thanks to Monika Bittel and Michael Feller for their hard work on the Recreation Forum.
