Trip Planning Questions

1. Do you have a vehicle, and how many people can you take?

2. What grade would you like to climb? Are you going to stick with the group, or would you prefer buddy-ing up with a likeminded climber and doing your own thing?

3. Wanna go biking?

4. Do you know how to belay? What is your outdoor rock climbing experience? Can you lead? Can you lead belay?

Participant Information

This trip is meant to mimic Esteban's current offering.

Just like he posted (with some editing):

*This trip is dependent on good/dry weather, and on what Esteban's group decides...*

The plan is to leave Thursday after work, before 5 and drive to Penticton. Climb Friday, Saturday, and Sunday before returning. Timing will depend on the mood of the group.

This isn't a course , however beginners with outdoor experience are welcome. Skaha bluffs are amazing and offer hundreds of climbs .Most are well bolted sport , but there are many mixed and trad climbs at  almost all, levels of difficulty.

We will be camping at Banbury Green RV and Camping Resort. Cost is $10/person/night.

I will not be reserving a campsite for the theoretical group, so if you sign up - I strongly advise you reserve your campsite, or sort out someone to share with. I will have one site reserved for myself, which can take one more tent. First come first serve!

Also: contingent on weather and whatnot, I may bring a mountain bike to check out the single track trails on the neighbouring hills. Could be a great option if there is a colder or rainy day! I consider myself an intermediate rider, so I'll be hitting up the blue runs. There is one more spot on my bike rack if you want to join in.

Participants will require a minimum of the basic climbing gear (harness, belay device, pas, helmet and 2 locking carabiners). If you have a climbing rope in good condition, I recommend you bring it.

That said, we can sort out the shared supplies as the day gets a bit closer. I fully anticipate a group that will fracture into multiple mini groups, depending on grade and interest. Hence, I will not organize the actual climbing days. And we can fraternize with the Esteban juggernaut group, of course.
