Trip Description

Two days of theory and practical training on the essential knowledge needed to build a variety of anchor types for mountaineering and climbing. Note: that this does not cover creating the original point of connection to the rock (no placement of gear or bolts is covered), that is Anchoring Intermediate.

Please only sign up if you are 100% committed to attending.  Minimum participation for this training to proceed is 8 participants.

Location:
Day One - Dennett Lake Bluff
Day Two - Group Choice (Squamish?)

Prerequisites: Basic knot skills (figure eight, clove hitch, water knot (aka ring bend/tape knot), double fisherman’s)

Requirements:

  • Harness
  • Helmet
  • Suitable clothing for the weather (potentially all day in the rain)
  • Webbing (1” or 9/16”)( min 6m)
  • Cord  (7 or 8mm) (min 6m)
  • Non-lock biners (min 6)
  • Locking biners (min 4, more recommended)
  • 1 Rope (>30M length, 7 – 11mm diameter)
  • Belay/Rappel device
  • Available sewn slings
