December 22nd is the day of the winter solstice, and a full moon. (They rarely coincide.) This will be an afternoon/evening hike, to a mountain within an hour's drive of Vancouver. The goal is to see the moonrise and sunset from the top, then hike down and go somewhere to eat and drink seasonal things. Decent weather needed - if it's really lousy, we'll at least get some exercise somewhere, and once we're cold and wet seek the antidote.. With a bit of luck, we'll not only see celestial wonders, but perhaps also a moomintroll.
