If you're interested in backcountry skiing, and have some skiing experience, but are not sure if you want to make the commitment (seriously, the gear will set you back a few years in your retirement savings planning, not to mention investing the time in things like avalanche skills training) , then this is the trip for you!

If you do not own skis, boots, skins, and avalanche safety gear (shovel, beacon and probe), you will need to rent gear. So if you're interested in the course make sure you reserve rental gear. 

Update: MEC in Vancouver and North Vancouver are not renting backcountry ski gear. We are not aware of any other places to rent backcountry ski or split board gear. Also recent flooding and road closures have closed access to a number of backcountry ski areas. We are looking for alternatives sites.
