ALL FEMALE* TRIP: We will go backcountry hiking in the Tetrahedron Park, I have never been but am excited to check it out. No tenting and swimming allowed in this park, unfortunately and we will be staying in huts.
There is a facebook group called "Tetrahedron Outdoor" I just joined for conditions and informing who stays in the huts and I already posted that we're coming. I have asked for current conditions. We might need to bring Snowshoes - not too much of a fan but if still quite some snow up there probably need it. AST1 and avy gear is then necessary.
I have booked me and car into the ferry but could only get spots on May 15th 9:25pm sailing as well as May 18th 10:30pm sailing. Hoping to get better times to change the booking. Can add passengers for free. Possiblity for foot passengers coming over Sat, May 16th first ferry and getting picked up there.
This is basically the route but will modify and try to summit some surrounding peaks, adventureous spirit needed :-)
Decent fitness to sustain 8 hours per day at a decent pace around 300-400 meters of elevation per hour with the heavy pack. We will be exploring more than the trip report. Hopefully summitting surrounding peaks, i.e. Panther Peak but need to do more research.
Sufficiency in route finding and involvement in decision making.
Confidence to tackle a bit more technical terrain (i.e. Class 37 max.4 scrambling and/or bushwacking).
Humor, friendlyness and good communication skills to make it an enjoyable trip for everyone.
Openmindedness for great group dynanimcs.
I will share my packlist closer to the date but we should bring a camping mat, even though there are mattresses at the huts. But huts might be busy and with mats we can also sleep on the floor.
An additional satellite communication device would be great (I can bring my bivy stick).
We will have a Zoom call latest the week before and will organize shared items (i,e, satellite communication device, first aid kit etc) in the planning forum. I'm always willing to share everything we can even up to sun screen and tooth paste :-)
