Trip Description

For BCMC members in Raj's mentorship group
This trip is only open to BCMC Mentorship Program participants. Preference will be given to mentees of the organizer (mentor). The organizer can open this trip to other mentees/mentors if needed.
Trip Details: Trad Climbing Outing
Objective: Build upon session #2 and 1. Slightly harder grades, reviewing gear placement, perhaps gear anchors?
Gear:
  • Required: Harness, rock shoes, chalk bag, belay device, trad rack, personal anchor system, anchor material, rope, 6-10 alpine draws, prussik material.
  • Optional: Belay glasses, crack gloves, ascender, guidebook.
  • Shared Gear: Discuss rope, anchor material, and draws in group chat.
Food/Drinks: Bring 2-3L water, snacks, and lunch for 7-8 hours at the crag.
Meeting:
  • Location: St David’s Church (1525 Taylor Way, West Vancouver, BC V7S 1N5).
  • Time: 6:30 AM (depart after 5 min latest. Don't be late!).
  • Return: 1:00–2:00 PM. Rock Climbing in Murrin Park, Squamish 
  • Carpooling: Arranged at meeting point.
Weather & Contingency:
  • Climb if rock is dry (no heavy rain day prior, ≤40% chance of precipitation).
  • Discuss rescheduling or alternate plans in group chat if needed.
Crag 
  • Murrin Park. Will discuss together which crag to head to.
