I'd like to take advantage of an early start to beat the heat on Saturday and tackle "The Climb" (SKATSHN) up to the Sea to Sky Gondola. This is a direct, 3.3 km route that punches up 850 meters of elevation. It is rated Advanced/Expert and features steep rock faces, ladders, and rope-assisted scrambling sections. I'll be downloading via the Gondola. There are QR Codes to scan at the top to get a discount on the download.
Full Disclosure: While I have a strong aerobic engine and have completed routes like the Sea to Summit, this will be my first time navigating this specific SKATSHN route. We will be navigating and route-finding collaboratively as a team. We will cap the group at 6 to ensure we don't get bogged down or create bottlenecks at the ropes and ladders, aiming for a moderate, steady pace (roughly 2 to 3 hours to the top).
The Add-On: After we grab the gondola down, I will be stopping at Murrin Provincial Park on the drive south to knock out the Murrin Loop and Jurassic Ridge Trail (roughly 3 km / 180m elevation) for a little extra fun. This route features some fun fixed ropes and steep rock slabs. Anyone in the group is welcome to join for this second push as well before heading home.
