Day hike (with mud and snow) to scramble Tricouni Peak.
Meeting at St Davids Sunday at 6.30am to arrive at base by around 8am. The trail can only be accessed by a 4WD with good clearance (to 1200m elevation) or a high SUV (to 920m elevation), so ideally we can all fit in one car and make it up or could take 2 cars and do a relay for that final section. I do not have a car.
High 3rd class scrambling. Approx 1400m elevation over 18km. I'll be bring a 30m rope and anchor material in case anyone requires rappel/belaying. Not looking to set any FKTs, there is some significant elevation going up. We will stay as a group and travel at the pace of the slowest person. Basically just looking to make this an enjoyable day.
Suggested: - Sunglasses - Hiking/skiing poles - Approach shoes/sneakers
This is a team objective, so weight and resources will be shared where appropriate. As with all outdoor trips, this trip is entirely weather dependent. If weather is looking bad, the trip will be cancelled or rescheduled. I will be bring a small first aid kit. Each person will contribute to fuel costs as set by the driver.
