The forum has seen an overhaul to make it easier to share trips and hopefully encourage others to share their own! To kick things off, I thought I'd share a quick recap of a 4 day traverse my friends Steven, Seb and Alex went on this last weekend. We had an amazing 4 day weather window and my original plan was to do a trip up to Bridge Mountain. While I love SWBC, I've been longing to get a bit further afield now that spring and summer are upon us.
While canvassing for partners my friend Steven mentioned that he and Alex were considering a heli-assisted traverse up to the Lillooet Icefield. This is a great area to visit self-propelled but you ideally need a good block of time to do it and I just didn't have that at my disposal. So at the last minute we formed a team and managed to get our friend onboard for a 4th.
The plan was to start near Delta-Mu, climb Dagleish, Lillooet, Tisiphone and then traverse across the valley for Alecto, Fulgora, Stanley, "Snow Dome" and Bridge Peak. We flew in on the Friday morning and had 4 days of perfect weather, stable snowpack and phenomenal scenery! I'll have to keep it brief, so here's a few photos of the journey to tell the rest:
