Trip Description

Practice your Mountaineering Skills Above the Seymour Ski Area

We will travel up from the Seymour Ski Area to practice a full range of mountaineering techniques and skills on steep slopes. We may encounter very steep slopes and rugged terrain.

Every participant is responsible for assessing the conditions and contributing their knowledge and opinion to ensure a safe outing for everyone.

This is Not a course!  Assess your abilities carefully.

Participants should have experience climbing alpine routes rated PD or greater. We may encounter AD.

Gear required:
Avalanche transceiver, probe and shovel.
Helmet, harness, rigid boots, crampons (general mountaineering.)
Ice Axe (general mountaineering).
Snow pickets, wands, rope.
Headlamp.
You're expected to bring the 10 Essentials [INFO LINK]
Personal and group gear will be discussed in the planning forum.
Snowshoes recommended!  Chocolate and Cheese to share are also recommended :)
 
Organizer will bring their own 10 Essentials including GPS, Map and compass, Personal Locator Beacon, Camera, and First aid kit.
 
Recommended carpooling cost:  ~$5-10; please arrange with driver; bring funds.
