Trip Description

Once you progress from hiking to scrambling and then further still to mountaineering, there are a few basic knots you should know. These are used to keep you safe on the mountain and you'll see them used everywhere. It's good to be able to tie some these one handed, as you'll often have big gloves, cold fingers, or a hand grabbing onto something else for safety. We'll practice the classic knots and discuss when and why they are used.  No experience necessary.

Knots
1) Bowline + Running Bowline
2) Alpine Butterfly
3) Figure 8

5) Double Fisherman's Knot
6) Clove hitch (1&2 handed)
7) Water knot
8) Prusik
