As this is an official BCMC trip and we'll be following all the rules (members only, no venturing into the Britannia watershed), we have use of the gate key so we'll be able to drive to the trailhead.

I've only been here in summer so this is a day trip to explore the area in winter conditions.  To the hut and back is about 14km with 700m elevation gain.  I'm assuming we'll hit snow by 1000m so I'll be bringing snowshoes, though they may not be absolutely necessary.  This will be a moderate pace trip, and I prefer that the group stick together.
