The Plan: We will meet at the trailhead and start up at 4:30 PM. To give everyone the workout they are looking for, you can choose to tackle either the Grouse Grind (stairs) or the BCMC Trail (rougher, roots, and rocks) or the Flint and Feather (steep with scrambles). Once we hit the chalet, anyone looking for a little extra burn can opt for an optional final push up to the Windmill!
It is a relatively short but punchy walk up the gravel access road (the ski slope) from the chalet. It is roughly 600 to 800 metres each way and usually takes an extra 10 to 15 minutes of uphill walking.
Pace & Regrouping: Everyone is free to hike at their own pace, whether you are pushing for a personal best or taking your time. We will not be hiking as one tight pack. Instead, we will all regroup at the top inside the chalet to hang out, grab a drink, and catch up, if you so choose.
Descent: Once we are done at the top, you can choose to download via the gondola (cheaper if you purchase online, cheaper still if you get a fiver pass or annual pass) or hike down.
Requirements & Gear: • Water and a light snack. • Hiking poles can be helpful. • Appropriate layers.
