*Make sure to reserve a tent pad Backcountry Registration for Alder Flats before signing up for trip*

Starting from the West Canyon Parking lot we will take the West Canyon trail up to Alder Flats (our campsite):
-5km one way
-250m elevation gain
-Hiking back using same trail on Sunday

Depending on weather we have the option to summit Golden Ears (North Ear) on Saturday or Sunday
Taking the Golden Ears trail then the Panorama Ridge trail to the summit from Alder Flats Campsite:
-12km round trip
-1500m elevation gain
-Some very steep sections requiring 3-point contact scrambling
-There is potential for snow all-year and I expect to have to hike over some snowy terrain: At the minimum bring micro-spikes and poles. Ice-Axe/Crampons recommended

Bring the outdoor essentials, plenty of food, and layers for alpine weather. There are apparently bear lockers at Alder Flats but I may bring a bear can just in case.
