Leaving Vancouver early morning around 5 am to reach the carpark by 7.30am. Will travel from the carpark up to Markhor Peak, then to Needle Peak and down the Needle Peak trail.
There is class 4 scrambling and we will bring rope & harnesses in case we decide to rappel/belay. There is around 1000m total elevation on the route over 11kms. There may also snow/ice coverage (not sure how much there will be by then).
Mandatory Equipment - Harness & rappelling Equipment (e.g. ATC, Prussic, beaners...) - Microspikes/Crampons (dependent on conditions - will be discussed prior) - Ice axe (dependent on conditions - will be discussed prior)
This is a team objective, so weight and resources will be shared where appropriate. As with all outdoor trips, this trip is entirely weather dependent. If weather is looking bad, the trip will be cancelled or rescheduled (as was the last trip I planned!). Weather updates will be given on a ongoing basis (e.g. 1 week, 2/3 days out, night before...) and happy to discuss them as a team. I will be bring a small first aid kit, rope & an emergency shelter.
