Mt. Adams Skiing - A Dummies Guide Current conditions and passes:
Mt. Adams Climbing ConditionsPlan to leave Vancouver very early on Saturday for the 7+ hour drive to the trailhead. Then I expect around a 5 hour hike to our camp spot on the 'lunch counter'/Suksdorf Ridge. The following day we will hike to the summit, , skit the chute, return to the cars, and drive home. Though be prepared for us having to find accommodations mid-drive-home.
Bring: overnight snow camping gear; probe, shovel, beacon; crampons, and an ice axe. Ski crampons recommended (I'll have mine). We'll have a call 1-2 weeks before for additional planning.
Past two years experience with strenuous long ascent days required. You should be comfortable skiing blacks in any conditions.
Passport and ability to enter the states required. A park pass is required (see link above). Medical insurance very strongly recommended.
The road is open to the trailhead. I can drive 3+me.
