Laid back half day to practice our multipitch systems and rappelling. We'll start at a crag on single pitches and depending on how the group is feeling and time, we may do a short multipitch at the end.
Crag location TBD based on the group experience and skill.
Participants should have a helmet, harness, climbing shoes, a double tube style belay device that can be used in guide mode (eg. ATC guide, Gigajul, Petzl Reverso, Mammut Nordwand Alpine), a prusik, and 5 locking carabiners, quick draws , and 5 meters of cordalette or something similar to build an anchor.
Must be comfortable and competent with lead belaying and lead climbing up to 5.8.
This is a beginner-friendly event but it is not a course. I'm ok if you have absolutely no multipitch or rappelling experience, but a certified guide is the best and safest way to learn. My friend and I are experienced climbers who have done many multipitches, have mentored newer people, and are safety-minded, but we are not guides. If you have no lead belaying or climbing experience this is not the right event for you.
Event may be cancelled if weather is unfavorable.
