The weather for Saturday is looking nice so let's see if we can be lucky enough to get in some views from the ridge. Even if we don't we should still be able to get a good workout and experience winter wonderland in some really lovely places.
This is a longish day ~28km and 1600m EG so we will need to keep a steady pace. I don't expect anything to be at all technically difficult although shoulder season conditions can sometimes surprise you.
Expect cold and snow/ice. Please bring microspikes and poles as well as winter gear sufficient to survive an unplanned night out in cold temperatures. Gaitors are a good idea. If you're missing anything you need, let me know and I can probably help you scrounge something up. I don't think we will want snowshoes but we can monitor conditions through the storm this week and discuss in the planning forum. We can also discuss carpooling from Vancouver and points east.
We will be starting up the switchbacks from the Rubble Creek parking in the dark and it's possible we might return in the dark as well if anything doesn't go smoothly so please bring a headlamp and extra batteries.
