Unnecessary Mountain from Lions Bay. ~1300m EG on a reasonably steep trail (3.5km one way according to Gaia)
I haven't been hiking a lot recently so I'm looking to take this at a really chill social pace and just get some mileage in and enjoy hanging out in the forest. My very friendly dog, Ansell, will be joining us.
It will likely be quite wet so come prepared for that. You may want a change of shirt for the way down if you tend to sweat a lot and a couple pairs of gloves. Probably a decent idea to bring microspikes both for slippery root sections on the way down and potentially a bit of snow at the top. I think we will just have wet and this should be cruisey but I have encountered some really sketchy shoulder season conditions on this trail a few times in the past so my thought will be to just turn around if anything is too ugly. We could always add a loop on the Erin Moore trail if we're not feeling it on the upper sections.
We can discuss car pooling in the trip forum.
