BCMC trip report for Deeks Peak. We arrived at Porteau Road at about 9AM. The road is still gated, but the trail up and on to the lake was as good as it ever was. Uneventful up the slog to the Deeks-Windsor col, which is where the snow started to appear. Snow got deep fairly quickly after that, and the traverse along the narrow ridge to the base of Deeks proper was compact and icy at times. Mountaineering axe and microspikes were appreciated. The rock is largely snow free, so the climb up to the summit was delightful. The paper in the summit register is soaked through. Sunny days, and peak to ourselves!
