I have been a backcountry skier for many years and I am really concerned about exiting Whistler Blackomb after a day of touring in "slack country".
Please sign the below petition and post it on Facebook, Instagram or email your friends. I got hit by a snowboarder in the Olympic run just above Gondola who sent me flying and  and broke my ankle. I do not want this to happen to anybody else, it has changed a lot of my spring and summer backcountry projects....

Blame evil american corporations, It's a consequence of the insane pricing for lift tickets.

Here's my view of it:

Season pass holders are generally okay skiers.  Its those out of towners or occasional skiers you have to watch out for.  If your lift ticket costs you $300 a day, you're going to ski until you can't move anymore.  i.e. beyond tired and, after that point is reached, beyond control. All in an effort to maximize value of your expense.  Coupled with the predatory pricing and no-upper limit on number of lift tickets sold per day, the obvious outcome is crappy, tired and out of control skiers trying to get the last bit of value from their $300.  That mentality of value maximization manifests itself  lower down on the mountain at the end of the day where conditions are always marginal and runs are overcrowded.

Stay away under all circumstances.  Down load. There is no shame in it and you won't get your spine or hips broken by a yahoo from Texas that is high, drunk, tired and out of control.
