As for "classic" I would rather prefer using "core" word for such trips: as for the club that bears "mountaineering" in its name, core trips should be alpine and only alpine. The rest is optional. Ide...

Providing exact GPS cords and info on parking restrictions would be useful as well. For example, there was recent dispute around St David's Church Parking Lot:

Once again, thanks to Rob for bringing this up. I would suggest to view the issue from the opposite angle: it could be easier to get the answer to the original question (what motivates volunteer inst...
Clarification to the post above (19.01.2016 09:20)
Re: incentive a)
"retentioned" funds were not meant to be paid out to the instructor in cash - this would be too vulgar (and like many others, I too...
I have never had problems renting a beacon at MEC by reserving one in advance, yet another suggestion could be that two paid sessions can raise enough cash to get a new one. Even more general (and muc...
In the past, the club used to offer beacons for rent - I wonder what happened to that program.
May I suggest to rent them at MEC and request the club for reimbursement. The session is paid and part (ideally all) of the proceeds should be used as intended - to support and promote its purpose.
For instructors only. Makng it simple.
1. Remove Access to the "Pro-Deal" memberships: this creates effect "More is Less", same reason for the items below.

It looks that the real reason for the division (or anger, frustration, disappointment, cynicism, general distrust to management and eventually lost of interest and apathy) is not the new hut itself, b...

Interested - if you own high clearance 4WD vehicle and willing to drive Shannon Creek Road.
