You must login in order to sign up online for one of the BCMC Trips. If you don't have a BCMC membership account then please obtain one. If you'd prefer to learn more before joining then please join as a 30-day Guest member. Some trips are BCMC members only.
Max Number: currently set to 4 but may increase to 6 or 8 so add your name to the Waiting List.
General Trip Plan: this trip is for BCMC members with experience multi-pitch climbing, plus have good lead-belay skills. Each pair of climbers will need at least one person that's comfortable leading moderate multi-pitch routes such as those on The Apron in Squamish. The plan will be to link together a set of moderate multi-pitch routes, most likely from the bottom of the Lower Apron to the top of the Upper Apron.
Gear Requirements: all participants must bring their own personal climbing gear... including: harness, belay device, locking biner, climbing shoes, and helmet (no helmet = no climbing). Also highly recommended is a prussic for rappelling, a PAS (personal anchor system) for securing yourself, plenty of water and energy snacks.
Where/When to Meet: we'll start early so we can climb when it's cooler... meeting at 7:00 am at the St. David's Church parking lot located near Hwy 1 and Taylor Way, in West Vancouver. While climbing, we'll keep an eye on the time so we can leave Squamish with enough time to be in Vancouver before 3:00 pm, in order to limit our exposure to the after-work traffic.
Emergency Contact Info: please make sure your Emergency Contact info has been added to your web-account profile. You can do this by logging into the bcmc.ca website, click on: My Account (top of page)... then click on Edit Emergency Contact (top-left column). Please re-enter your password to complete the process. Your emergency contact info is stored *privately* and only made available to those organizing trips *you* choose to attend.
Potential Medical Issues: any info that should be shared with the organizer(s), please send an email and/or phone ASAP. For example, if you are very allergic to bee/wasp bites, or you are taking medication that could be vital information to First Aid Responders. Anything you choose to share with me will remain private.
Poor Weather Cancellation: I'll check the weather forecast for where we're going the evening before we meet. If the weather does NOT seem good enough for reasonably safe climbing then I will announce to all participants that the trip is cancelled.
