1. Do you have AST 1 and how many years of Steep Skiing experience do you have?
2. Do you have Mountaineering & Rescue experience / training? Please explain.
3. Can you ski runs like Sudan Couloir, Hawaii 5.0, Banana Chute, NW Face of Fissile, with ownership and strong technique?
4. What Ski Mountaineering have you done, have you climbed steep peaks / couloirs to ski them, which ones?
5. With the variability in weather there is a fair chance we will need to be flexible; can you have a window that includes consecutive weekends? If the first target weekend was good we would take it, but if not we would aim for the second, and so on. Note the aforementioned dates are tentative and a larger window may make sense.
6. Upon confirming logistics and finalizing a group, are you willing to make a 30% deposit to the respective guide company? This would be refundable if we were cursed with no fly conditions for the target dates.
7. Feel free to reach out if you have questions

Trip Description: The Tantalus Range has some of the most aesthetic and formidable steep lines in the Coastal Range. This trip is intended for expert skiers seeking to ski steep exposed and often high consequence terrain on angles 45+ degrees in one of the more magical environments on offer; and simultaneously improve their big mountain skills by utilizing a local ACMG guide.
The use of the Guide will allow the group to improve its mountain skills in this high-angle environment, ensure a high degree of hazard management, and maximize skiing time by allowing the group to tap into the local knowledge and expertise of the guide. Note this trip is not intended to improve skiing skills - expert steep skiing skills are required to participate but you need not be a expert mountaineer.
With the access challenges as they are, a helicopter will be used to access Haberl Hut, from Squamish, for a drop and pick up.
Due to unpredictable weather, flexibility in dates may be required and the above dates are not fixed. A larger window may increase the odds of ideal conditions.
Here is a link to a video that showcases some of the terrain on offer. This is not intended to represent the lines that will be skied but rather to offer some perspective on the terrain and environment.
