Participant Information

Half-day north shore backcountry ski trip to Mount Seymour. Moderate climb with some good turns down the west gully between Second Peak and Mount Seymour.

Plan is to skin up the marked trail using headlamps. We should be reaching treeline just after sunrise. After a quick break on the summit of Seymour, we'll go for a lap (or two) down the west gully and head back down the trail/resort.

Fitness permitting, we should be back at the parking lot by 12 or 1pm.

While not long or technical, this is not a trip for beginners. Participants must be comfortable on skins, have decent fitness and be prepared to climb at a brisk pace for 4 hours. Participants should confidently downhill ski blue runs in mixed conditions.

As always, avalanche equipment (shovel, beacon, probe) and headlamps are required.

Meet 6:30am at JJ Bean at Park & Tilford (333 Brooksbank Ave) OR at 7:20am at the Mount Seymour Trailhead sign (north-west corner of the Mount Seymour parking lot...start of the showshoe trail).
