Meeting Place: 8:00am at the Tim Hortons parking lot, located on Hwy 7 and Coast Meridian @ 1525 Lougheed Hwy, Port Coquitlam, BC V3B 1A5 . Directions will be added to the trip's Planning Forum.
Climbing Place: we'll go to the Dennett Bluff, that's just east of Port Coquitlam, in the Pinecone Burke Provincial Park.
Group Size: a minimum of *4* club members need to be confirmed in order for this trip to proceed.
Experience info: while I'm sure the more experienced climbers will be happy to share their knowledge, this is not a climbing course. Every participant must be able to safely belay and is expected to have top roping experience (indoors or outdoors). If you're unsure whether you have enough experience then please join and contact me by email to arrange a time to discuss it over the phone, thank you :-)
Requirements: all participants must bring their personal winter climbing gear... including helmet, harness, belay device with locking biner, prusik (for rappelling), mountaineering boots, ice climbing tools, vertical-ice crampons, and a headlamp. Also bring something hot to drink and enough snacks to keep you warm for the day. Ropes & anchor material for this event are provided by participants and not by the club... so if you have a full strength climbing rope and anchor material, please do bring it.
Emergency info: please log in, then click on: My Account button (top-right of page), then click on the Edit Emergency Contact link (upper left column) to add your emergency contact info. You must re-enter your password to complete the process. Your emergency contact info will be stored *privately* and only made available to those organizing trips that *you* choose to attend. You can email webmaster@bcmc.ca for help.
Cancellation info: expect this trip to proceed rain or shine... unless the forecast is for heavy rain.
