Trip Planning Questions

Unless I know your skiing/boarding ability from previous trips, in order to ascertain your skill level, please give me some examples of your most advanced backcountry ski trips. Do you have a reliable vehicle equipped with snow tires that you are able to take passengers. How many?

Participant Information

Approach via the Frosty Mountain trail to the larch meadows. Possible ascent of Frosty Mountain depending on weather, snow, avalanche conditions and group capability. Possible bowl skiing from the ridge and climbing back up again (yo-yo). On the descent down the trail there is the possibility for advanced skiers to cut one or two switchbacks by skiing straight down through the trees.

Oriented for advanced intermediate or better skill level.

Required equipment: headlamp, spare batteries, snow shovel, beacon, probe, skis.

Possibly suitable for snowboarders.
