Trip Planning Questions

When did you last take an AST course (or equivalent)?

Are you familiar with these lines? If not, have you done similar trips?

What is your whistler pass situation?

Participant Information

Basic outline:
Last minute trip to hit the 4 classic lines right beside Blackcomb resort in a single day; Husume, Corona, DOA, and Bodybag. We will use the lifts to save time and legs. In case Blackcomb patrol doesn't open Showcase T-Bar for whatever reason, secondary option is accessing Decker from the bottom or going for laps of the Chuting Gallery (depending on group skill and motivation). Season pass / edge card / BCA pass required for all options. BCA pass is technically not allowed for the primary route but it'll probably work since Vail removed the bars on Crystal and Glacier.

Mandatory equip:
Skis or split / boots / poles / skins / all that good stuff
Beacon / probe / shovel
Headlamp / 1st aid / tools & spare parts for your setup
Lunch / drink / appropriate clothing / spare layers and gloves
Sunnies / goggles
A pass of some sort to access WhistlerBlackcomb lifts

Strong recommend:
Cookies / chocolate / sweets to share

Nice if you have them (I carry all of these):
Phone in IP67 case (If you use Gaia/Avenza, bring a phone battery pack)
Baldwin's topo / CAA Notebook

Meetup and logistics:
06:30 meeting at the rear parking lot of St. David's Church, West Van. 06:35 departure. I can drive me+3 if we don't have much gear; me+2 if we do. Returning to West Van at whatever time we end up back there. 17:00? Later if we stop for burritos on the way home.
