Participant Information

Third time's the charm; We tried getting up Cypress in Nov and again early Feb but conditions or other factors came into play. The goal is to summit Cypress Peak and ski back down to the cars in a long day. Expect a good ten hours to be safe, all moving at a good clip and occasionally making way for snowmobilers

- four-wheel drive with good snow tires welcome however may not be needed as we'll likely park at the cat operation and start skinning from there.

Conditions

- avalanche conditions improve from now to Sunday and the weather should see good consolidation

Mandatory:

⦁AST1 or AST2

⦁avalanche safety package

⦁ice axe, crampons, helmet recommended; skis may be left on the summit ridge

⦁strong physical conditioning & basic backcountry skiing capabilities

⦁Plan B: Brohm Ridge to Warren Glacier, or delaying the Cypress trip to the following day as Sunday's forecast is looking good at the moment

Bring a lot of fuel for this high energy trip.
