Drive to Watersprite Lake winter route. Ski to Watersprite Lake. Cross pass at head of lake basin, drop into headwaters of Crawford Creek and ski up the south side to Crawford Peak. Ski down the north glacier on Crawford into Skookum Creek east fork (Paranoid Creek on bivouac.com). Ski down the east fork. Climb up to Skullhead Pass then down to the summer trail. Down summer trail to the dam. Back along the dam road to the winter trailhead. We will also check out a potential hut site on the south side of Crawford Peak. It will be possible for people to take an extended rest stop when Bill and I check out the site.
It will be a long day with 2000 meters of elevation gain. Round trip distance will be about 25 km. You will need to be physically fit. A headlamp is required. We won't be traveling at a breakneck speed. Rather, it will be steady climbing and skiing. Lots of time for rest breaks and photography.
Sorry, snowboards are not suitable for this trip.
