A decent trip I've done several times in the past. Goes up the east side of Mount Brew to the hut. It's a better ski descent than the trip from Chance/Roe. We approach via a logging road. We ski through a clearcut to reach timber that can be fairly tight. There could be icy patches and tree bombs and shallow creek crossings. The timber band is between 850 and 1050 meters. Above, the terrain is open subalpine.
Participants are required to be physically fit and must be at advanced intermediate skill level or better and experienced in backcountry skiing. Elevation gain is approximately 1200 meters.
We park at Brew Main off a paved and plowed road. Standard vehicle with snow tires is all that is required.
Beacon, shovel, probe, headlamp are the safety gear required.
