Trip Planning Questions

What is your climbing experience?

Do you know how to top rope/lead belay?

Can you build top rope anchors?

Can you clean anchors?

Do you have rope? Particularly 70 metres? We need atleast three? 60s will be used for shorter routes.

Participant Information

We will meet at Lougheed Skytrain at 6:45 a.m. It will take at least a couple of hours to drive there.

When we visited last month we had fun climbing at the Girlfriend Wall last month. Hadrian's Wall is across the road and up a bit.

Please note: There is no specific campground there, people set up tents just off of the FSR. There are lots of little pullout sections. There is no washroom facility so please bring a trowel. The lake is stunning and we can go for a dip afterward. The place is a bit popular with locals but not too busy.

Please bring camping gear, personal climbing gear, rope if you have it (70s are especially needed) we need at least 3. 60s welcome too. Bring Trad gear if you have it, one route in particular needs some protection placed. Some of the climbs are mixed. Extra clothing, emergency supplies, water, camera, boulder pads if you have them.

The walls are at least 30 meters high. We will climb for a bit on Sunday morning and will head back to town around noon. We can stop for a bite to eat at the Sasquatch Inn which is close to the crag.

The Boulder Fields are just off the road in front of the main cragging area.  There are plenty of Boulders to climb from V0 to really hard, even highballs if you like that style. These are fun by challenging climbs. It is Sport climbing but we set up top ropes the last time we were there. Some people were sport climbing, others did top rope and there is some Trad. Hadrian's Wall is pretty much the same with one 5.9. There is not a lot of information on this area but I do have a guidebook.

The trip will be postponed if the weather is not favorable. Please use the planning forum for organizing carpooling and gear.

Please see the Carpooling guidelines for fees.
