A classic trip in the Callaghan Valley area: the views from the ridge are mind blowing and is almost guarantee to be the only ones around there:)
More details about the area (ignore the stats on that page!):
https://www.outdoorproject.com/canada/british-columbia/journeyman-peak-callaghan-country
There is about 14KM(return) of groomed cross-country trail that we need use, so about 50% of the total distance will be easily traveled: still it is a big day(8-10h), don't underestimate it!
Please be considerate and do NOT sign up unless you are 100% committed for the trip and you are at least an intermediate skier(can do black runs in any conditions, including trees) in the Backcountry. Most likely based on the long-term forecast, some trailbraking will be required by everyone in the group- no exceptions. If in doubt about your capabilities send me a message and we can talk about it:)
Will be moving at a moderate-fast pace. Not for slow people, sorry.
We are going to use the groomed trails to access the ridge and on our way back will have a long slog again the groomed trails, so will be good citizens and buy our $15 passes for the trails we use. This needs to happen ahead of time, at home and have proof of purchase with you as the ticket office will be closed when we start in the morning.
