Participant Information

Informal get together to review search procedures as well as to facilitate discussion on avalanche rescue. We may simply run around searching for targets, or we may talk about alternate search procedures, slalom probing, or the CAA's latest recommendations in shoveling procedures.

Be sure to bring a headlamp. If there is little snow, the cover of darkness should provide a sufficient challenge.

There may or may not be enough snow on the ground to ski/skin. Skis are a decision you should make depending on how much you love your equipment; consider snowshoes or microspikes. If there is absolutely no snow, I will cancel the event and reschedule on the following week.

Meeting at Enquist Lodge @ Mt Seymour (49°21'44.7"N 122°57'01.7"W). Please click the link and look at the satellite image. Many people are confused exactly where to meet.
Start at 5:30 PM. Wrap up at 7:30 ish. Feel free to arrive late if you can't leave work early enough.

Note: This is not a course and I am not a professional guide. I am a very junior member of the Canadian Avalanche Association who loves shreducation.
