Participant Information

Date/Time: Sunday, February 7 at 5:00am
Meeting Place:
Lion's Bay Trailhead (Google maps point will be sent to participants)
Objective: Mt Harvey
Elevation and Distance: ~1,500m and 8.5 km

Let's take advantage of the low freezing levels to have a go at Mt Harvey. The intent is to have an early start and get home in time for Sunday afternoon at home.

We will start with skis on our packs and headlamps on.  Please be prepared with suitable pack.  We'll switch to skins when we're able.

On the summit ridge, we may stop short just of the summit depending on conditions.

Skiing from the top should be excellent.  This is advanced skiing and skinning terrain, not a beginner trip.    We'll be moving at a good pace for 5-6 hours will short "military-style" breaks of 5 minutes per hour.

All participants should follow the COVID related guidelines posted on BCMC website.

  • Separate vehicles for all participants, no carpooling.
  • Physical distance will be maintained throughout the day.

Full covid protocols are available at https://bcmc.ca/bcmc/files/BCMCCovidDec82020Phase3%20Guidelines.pdf
