What are some examples of hiking or backpacking trips you have done this year?
Do you have a car and would you be willing to drive? Can your car handle the Hurley?

Spend a week exploring the beautiful South Chilcotin Mountains Provincial Park from July 16 - 24!
Learn more about the park here: https://bcparks.ca/explore/parkpgs/south_chilcotin_mts/
We're planning to fly with Tyax Adventures to Lorna Lake and hike back to the car at Tyaughton Lake. We're looking for a couple more people to join us! The trip is 7 days of hiking with a day of travel on either end. Here are a couple of trip reports from previous years:

And here is a potential itinerary (this can be changed as long as we end up back in Vancouver on July 24!):
July 16: Drive to Tyaughton Lake, take floatplane to Lorna Lake
July 17: Explore Sluice Creek valley (14.5 km, +780 m, -780 m)
July 18: Lorna Lake to Deer Pass (16.0 km, +970 m, -580 m)
July 19: Mount Solomon from Deer Pass (6 km, +300 m, -300 m)
July 20: Deer Pass to Mount Sheba (8.5 km, +655 m, -620 m including ascent of Mount Sheba)
July 21: Mount Sheba to Cowboy Camp (13.5 km, +300 m, -1200 m)
July 22: Cowboy Camp to Taylor Basin (14.0 km, +980 m, -330 m including some exploration of Upper Taylor Basin)
July 23: Taylor Basin to Tyaughton Lake (15.5 km, +465 m, -1480 m)
July 24: Drive home
The cost of the flight will be $1450+GST ($1522.50), so with 4 people we'd be paying $380.63 each, and with 5 we'd be paying $304.50 each, plus sharing the cost of fuel to drive to Tyaughton Lake.
Tyaughton Lake is 2wd-accessible, but if we take my sedan we'll have to go via Lillooet, which takes longer. Bonus points if you have a car that can handle the Hurley ;)
This area is known for its bear activity (including grizzlies), so an Ursack or bear can is a must!
Please be fully committed if you sign up. After June 15, the flight will be non-refundable, so you will need to help us find someone to take your spot if you drop out.
