Participant Information

A deservedly popular route. My preference for this one is a multi-day trip, with camping at the moraine. This trip involves some easy mountaineering (i.e. glacier travel, class 3-4 exposed climbing), but I think it qualifies as a difficult scramble (think Sky Pilot, or maybe Cypress Mountain). Do your own research and make certain: will you be comfortable on this route? There are a few good resources, online and in guide books, to get acquainted with the route. You should be comfortable with self arresting and exposed scrambling. There will be a long days, so plan accordingly. We will organize shared tents and equipment as the day gets a little closer.

Required gear: Along with the basics, and overnight camp material, helmet, crampons and an axe are must haves. Pace will be moderate to casual, (as I am a slow and steady individual) length is ~24.5km (elevation 2346m). I've have never done this scramble before, and I am always open to suggestions or modifications. Anyway, expect some views and good company.

AllTrails is good for the forum (i.e. recent travel, snowlines). I use Steven Song's write-up to look at pictures of the route, most especially the crux. Outdoor project has a great writeup. Also - Scrambles of the Southwest BC is a good resource for route information.

Meeting time and place (as directed on the side panel): 7AM at St. David's.

10 essentials, decent hiking footwear, don't forget your headlight.
