Participant Information

This is a self catering/unguided trip to Tyax's Eldorado Cabin <https://tyaxadventures.com/stay-sleep/backcountry-accommodation/eldorado-cabin-winter/>. Heli-in / Heli-out.

I am looking for a few extra bodies to bring along on this trip.

The cabin sleeps 9 people; 6 single bunks and room for 3 in the loft, all with foam pads to sleep on. Inside the cabin you’ll find a wood stove with wood, a propane cooking stove with propane, and solar powered 12v lights with propane backup lights. The kitchen is stocked with all dishes, pot & pans, utensils, soap etc. There is also a wood fired sauna and outhouse. The cabin is located at coordinates 50.95825, -122.87757.

There is some stuff on Youtube if you want to have a look at the area and the inside of the cabin. <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frWwacv0pOc> <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trFBQZECJAY>

Pictures of my trip to the cabin last April are here to give some additional flavour of the place: <https://photos.app.goo.gl/zrEpqQTdbsdmiTPk6>

Participants need to be good skiers in good physical condition and able to route find and handle themselves independently. Expect moderate/fast pace with elevation gain of ~1200m per day. Group decision making will be a priority and all participants will be expected to consider the group's wants ahead of their own.

The group will carpool from Vancouver early on January 30th to meet the helicopter and return late on February 4th.

The total cost for the trip with fly in/out option for 8 people is = $6,150 + tax. This will be split evenly by the participants. Current expectation is cost will be about $800 each person plus gas for drivers. A $200 deposit is required to reserve your place.
