This will be a fun, informal, and interactive info session for members who would like to know more about organizing club trips.
In preparation for this tutorial you should become familiar with the website. Add a new trip to the club schedule using the "Post New Trip" button (upper right corner of this page). Put the word "TEST" in the title. Fill in the blanks and use the "Test Trip" icon (TT) for the category. Post the trip in October 2025 so we can find it, but make sure you set registration to today's date so others can can join your trip. Post any sort of trip you'd like. Join other test trips. Note: you can't join two trips on the same day, so please set the dates accordingly.
During this session we shall discuss:
- How to pick a destination that you'll most likely be comfortable with.
- Resources and related trip beta.
- How many people to take, i.e. a safe minimum and maximum.
- Safety considerations, including club insurance coverage.
- An overview of the process from posting the trip to saying "goodnight".
- The benefits of being a frequent trip organizer, e.g. Pro Deals.
- The BCMC Trip Organizer Insurance Program and Coverage/Liability
In preparation, please review these archived Trip Organizer video tutorials (blasts from the past):
