Trip Planning Questions

What's the most strenuous winter hike / climbing trip you've ever done?

What's your fastest GG time? (If you don't know what this is, then what's the fastest 10k you've ever done?)

Have you used crampons / ice axes before?

What type of vehicle do you have?

Can you drive?

Participant Information

(Postponed to Feb)

Couldn't do this on Jan 1st so trying it again!!

Meet up at 12:00am on Sunday at St. Davids United Church, (1525 Taylor Wy, West Vancouver) and we can carpool there to rubble creek parking lot. Estimated to start hiking latest at 1:30am (Sunrise is around 8:00am, but with winter conditions everything is slower)

Daisy lake road can be icy in the winter, if the conditions are bad we may have to park close to the highway and add an extra 1~2.6km (max) hike to the trailhead. Carpooling can be discussed in the planning forum.

Trip will be avalanche risk dependent, estimating 12-13hrs round trip including break time and photo time on the summit.

Last section can be icy/steep, so please bring crampons (not micro spikes) and ice axe(s) just in case. not to mention headlamp(s), spare batteries, snowshoes, warm clothing, (basic10 essentials)....etc. etc.

<Not a beginner trip. If you've never used crampons or had experience in steep winter terrain this trip is not recommended>

Lastly a photo that got me arranging this sleep depriving event......
