Location: Mount Kelly, Manning Park, BC
Distance: 3.7 km
Elevation Gain: 500 m
Join us for an exploratory backcountry ski trip to Mount Kelly in Manning Park. This trip is reported to be fairly suitable for beginner and intermediate backcountry skiers.
Trip Details:
Route: We'll follow a moderate trail through beautiful alpine forests and open terrain as we ascend towards the summit of Mount Kelly.
Elevation Gain: 500 m
Distance: 3.7 km
Skill Level: Participants should be comfortable with backcountry travel and have some previous skiing experience.
Terrain: Expect some challenging sections and an ascent that will test your fitness, with the reward being panoramic views at the top.
What to Bring:
Full avalanche safety gear (beacon, probe, shovel, and airbag pack if available)
Touring skis or splitboard
Appropriate layers for cold temperatures, including gloves, goggles, and face protection
Snacks and plenty of water
Safety Note: We will be travelling in a remote, potentially avalanche-prone area, so participants must come prepared with the necessary gear and knowledge. An avalanche course and previous backcountry experience are strongly recommended.
