Myself and 2 friends (1m,2f) are pining to complete this bucket list backpack trip through one of the finest mountain scenery in the US. Any seasoned backpacker will likely be aware of this 340km long distance trail in the Sierra Nevada mountain range. The trail, which mostly runs in conjunction with the PCT, sits at ~2500m, crosses 6 passes, passes by countless lakes and peaks that soar well above 4000m. We seek a strong and experienced backpacker that will fit in nicely.
Because of such high demand and limited permits, many people are turned away every year. I have a permit for 4 people starting at roughly halfway from Inyo NF exiting Mt Whitney. This is only half the trail. We were very lucky to get this from the initial 6 month release. We hope to secure the other half of trail when the 2 week release occurs but it's still gonna take some luck. Either way we are going for the full duration and will do day hikes around Mammoth and Yosemite front country style as a backup.
I will be bringing a motorbike on a hitch rack so I can self shuttle our group and by doing the trail as sections we can avoid food drops. Both of these aspects help to keep costs down.
We had a 4th person that just dropped out and therefor only have 1 spot to offer up. The physical nature of this trip calls for strict conditions for being chosen to join our group. Please carefully research this trip on your own and review the criteria below and if you are interested rsvp.
- I will arrange a video call with applicants beginning mid April with our decision made by mid May.
