Dates - Aug 1-4, 2025
Planning for a 3 night/4 day trip to Kees and Claire Memorial Hut near Russet Lake in Whistler. This will be a family friendly event, but all members are welcome to join. There are different hiking and scrambling objectives in the area for individuals with varying experience/skill/fitness levels. e.g. Fissile Peak, Whirlwind Peak, Overlord Peak (Page 90-95 in Scrambles in Southwest BC Book). Families can choose to explore around Russet Lake and do some short hikes.
The hut can be accessed via Singing Pass Trail or via Gondola to Roundhouse Lodge and then Musical Bumps trail.

Hut Booking: Individuals are responsible for their own booking* and your participation is not confirmed till you share your booking confirmation with me.

* - if there are more than 15 BCMC members who are interested in this trip and are committed to staying at the hut for three nights, I will request a group booking, but cannot guarantee that it would be possible.
Ideally, we would have all family members (including kids) have BCMC membership as it will make the booking easier (90-day booking window for members vs. 60-day for non-members). But if your spouse or child does not have BCMC membership, please make sure to fill out the waiver form.
