Backpacking trip to camp at Rampart Ponds near Mamquam Lake in Garibaldi Provincial Park.
Distance to Rampart Ponds - 21 km
This is a difficult but incredibly rewarding hike into the backcountry of Garibaldi Provincial Park. We'll hike first to Elfin Lakes, stop for a lunch break, then continue to Rampart Ponds. The trail is very exposed, mostly above treeline. A lot of the elevation is gained in the first 5 km, hiking up an old forest road. There are also some steep sections beyond Elfin Lakes. Expect to spend 7-8 hours hiking both days.
Gear: Overnight camping gear, 2 lunches, 1 dinner, 1 breakfast, +snacks
Cost: $16 for camping, plus mileage fee
