Overnight camping and summit attempt of Golden Ears Peak.
Distance: 22.5 km, approx 1700 m elevation gain
Late afternoon we'll hike to Alder Flats camping area, 5.5 km from West Canyon Trailhead and spend the night.
The next morning we'll get a sunrise start to hike to the summit of Golden Ears Peak, approximately 6 km from Alder Flats. We'll return to our tents, pack up and hike back to the cars, making for 17.5 km day.
Gear: Overnight camping gear, meals for 1 dinner, 1 breakfast, 1 lunch, +snacks
Cost: $10 for camping, plus mileage (42 km)
