Crag Improvements & Climbing at Chek Canyon
BCMC x Squamish Access Society Partnership
Join BCMC and the Squamish Access Society (SAS) for a hands-on day of community trail work to improve the base of Foundation Wall at Chek Canyon. The work will involve digging post holes, digging out tiers, moving earth/gravel.
When and Where: Meet at the upper Chek Canyon parking lot on August 23 at 8:45 AM
Work Duration: 9 AM to 1:30 PM
What to Bring:
-
Sturdy footwear suitable for trail/construction work
-
Work gloves (highly recommended)
-
Snacks/lunch and water
-
Climbing gear if you plan to climb after (helmet, rope, draws, harness, etc.)
After the work is done, you're welcome to stick around and climb at one of the many crags in Chek Canyon! We can coordinate where in the Planning Forum. SAS will also be doing a climbers count to support their Economic Impact Survey, so your presence helps more than just the trail. You’re welcome to help them with the count as well.
Come out, give back, and help keep climbing access sustainable in Squamish!
