Trail Building & Climbing at Paradise Valley
BCMC x Squamish Access Society Partnership
Join BCMC and the Squamish Access Society (SAS) for a hands-on day of community trail work to improve access to the Paradise Valley Bouldering Area! We'll be building a bridge using an existing downed log and need volunteers to help carry in tools, materials, and assist with the construction.
When and Where: Meet at Tenderfoot Creek Hatchery on August 23 at 9:30 AM
Work Duration: No more than 5 hours
What to Bring:
-
Rain boots (recommended if you're okay working in water)
-
Sturdy footwear suitable for trail/construction work
-
Work gloves (highly recommended)
-
Snacks/lunch and water
-
Climbing gear if you plan to climb after (helmet, rope, draws, harness, etc.)
After the work is done, you're welcome to stick around and climb at the Paradise Valley crag (https://www.mountainproject.com/area/119620397/paradise-valley)! We can coordinate this in the Planning Forum. SAS will also be doing a climbers count to support their Economic Impact Survey, so your presence helps more than just the trail. You’re welcome to help them with the count as well.
Come out, give back, and help keep climbing access sustainable in Squamish!
