Participant Information

This trip is dependent on there being clear weather.  (Essential!) The objectives are an afternoon hike up the first summit of the Stawamus Chief, in time to seen the sunset and moonrise, and celebrate the winter solstice. (It's the night of the full moon.) Followed by a descent, and a bite to eat. We'll start hiking at 2:30 = leave city after lunch.

Sunset is at 16:25, and moonrise at 16:41, although the moon takes a while to rise above the nearby hills.

A go/no go decision will be made that morning, or earlier if possible. The conditions didn't allow the hike on December 4th, we'll try again.

Hopefully participants can carpool from the city, perhaps leaving Saint David's at 1:30. (I'm in Squamish, and so will meet the group at the trailhead.)
