The pace will be moderate, and we’ll travel as a team throughout the day. This trip is best suited for those comfortable moving together rather than skiing independently. We’ll meet at the trailhead at 8:00 AM and plan for a 6+ hour outing.
Plan for 1200m elevation gain and a lot of ridge walking. If it snows before then and the pow is good, we may change objectives - to be determined in the forum.
Strong marginal skiing ability is a must, as is AST 1 certification and 2+ years of backcountry ski experience (sorry, this is not a beginner trip). This is also probably not a great trip for split boarders.
Participants should be comfortable leading, developing a route plan, and taking part in a group safety meeting. Logistics and carpool details will be shared in the forum. I have not been to this area before so plan for some route finding discussions.
