This trip involves a ferry ride to the Sunshine Coast. Option of daytrip only on March 7, or an overnight at the hut. We can divide into 2 groups if needed. We can choose our destination: either Edwards Hut (~14 km return, and 400m elevation gain), or Steele Hut (~21 km return, ~1100m elevation gain). We can go to Edwards Hut, and then decide if we want to continue. Both huts have wood stoves for heating and sleeping mats. We would have reserve an early morning ferry for March 7th, as well as return ferry for either March 7 or 8th.
Costs:
- ferry: shared cost of vehicle $60 plus $11 per person (advance fare)
-hut: donation to Tetrahedron Outdoor Club for use of cabin (less for quick lunch stop, more for overnight)
-shared cost of gas, plus any meals we eat on the ferry or in Sechelt etc
